Students have started their ACCA journey right after completing their class 10<\/span><span id=\"E782\">th<\/span><span id=\"E783\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E784\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E785\">ACCA <\/span><span id=\"E786\">with its in-depth curriculum, <\/span><span id=\"E787\">application mindset, active support from the governing body is a <\/span><span id=\"E788\">degree <\/span><span id=\"E789\">that is not only <\/span><span id=\"E790\">recognized in 180+ countries<\/span><span id=\"E791\"> but is becoming a preferred choice amongst student groups and communities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E792\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E793\">A lot of students who have completed their graduation are also eager to join the programme. Through this article we will try to address questions that they have before in terms of the roadmap going forward. <\/span><span id=\"E794\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E795\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><strong><span id=\"E796\">Step No 1 \u2013 Check <\/span><span id=\"E797\">Eligibility<\/span><span id=\"E798\"> for no. of exemptions<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"E799\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E800\">Students after completing their graduation, <\/span><span id=\"E801\">can get started with <\/span><span id=\"E802\">the <\/span><span id=\"E803\">ACCA<\/span><span id=\"E804\"> qualification. Students who have completed their graduation are eligible for exemption for ACCA papers as under &#8211; <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E805\" class=\"qowt-li-14_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><strong><span id=\"E806\">B. Com \/ BAF \/ BBI<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E807\"> \u2013 These students are eligible <\/span><span id=\"E808\">for exemptions <\/span><span id=\"E809\">for 4 out of 13 ACCA papers, which means that students must clear only 9 papers (5 Applied Skills Level and 4 Strategic Professional Level) to complete the ACCA qualification. The subjects that are exempt are as under \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"E810\" class=\"qowt-li-14_1 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E811\"> Business &amp; Technology (BT), Financial Accounting (FA) and Management Accounting (MA) from <\/span><strong><span id=\"E812\">Applied Knowledge Level<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li id=\"E813\" class=\"qowt-li-14_1 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E814\">Corporate and Business Law from the <\/span><strong><span id=\"E815\">Applied Skills Level<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E816\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"E818\" class=\"qowt-li-14_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><strong><span id=\"E819\">BBA \/ BMS<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E820\"> &#8211; <\/span><span id=\"E821\">These students are eligible <\/span><span id=\"E822\">for an exemption for<\/span><span id=\"E823\"> 1 out of 13 ACCA papers, which means that students must clear only 12 papers (2 Applied Knowledge Level, 6 Applied Skills Level and 4 Strategic Professional Level) to complete the ACCA qualification. The subject that is exempt Is as under \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"E824\" class=\"qowt-li-14_1 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E825\"> Business &amp; Technology (BT) from <\/span><strong><span id=\"E826\">Applied Knowledge Level<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"E828\" class=\"qowt-li-14_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><strong><span id=\"E829\">B. Com + <\/span><span id=\"E830\">CA Inter<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E831\"> \u2013 <\/span><span id=\"E832\">These students are eligible for exemptions for 6 out of 13 ACCA papers, which means that students must clear only 7 papers (3 Applied Skills Level and 4 Strategic Professional Level) to complete the ACCA qualification. The subjects that are exempt are as under \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"E833\" class=\"qowt-li-14_1 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E834\"> Business &amp; Technology (BT), Financial Accounting (FA) and Management Accounting (MA) from <\/span><strong><span id=\"E835\">Applied Knowledge Level<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li id=\"E836\" class=\"qowt-li-14_1 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E837\">Corporate and Business Law (LW), Audit and Assurance (AA) and taxation (TX) from the <\/span><strong><span id=\"E838\">Applied Skills Level<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"E839\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-2\"><strong><span id=\"E840\">Step 2 \u2013 Plan <\/span><span id=\"E841\">the <\/span><span id=\"E842\">d<\/span><span id=\"E843\">uration<\/span><span id=\"E844\"> for completing the qualification<\/span><span id=\"E845\"> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"E846\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E847\">Depending on the number of exemptions that students <\/span><span id=\"E848\">would be <\/span><span id=\"E849\">eligible for, duration for clearing the ACCA qualification <\/span><span id=\"E850\">could be as under &#8211; <\/span><span id=\"E851\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"contentsContainer\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\">\n<div id=\"contents\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\">\n<p id=\"E852\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1 x-scope qowt-word-para-1 x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><strong><span id=\"E853\">B. Com \/ BAF \/ BBI<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E854\"> \u2013 <\/span><span id=\"E855\">Assuming that a student would appear for one paper every quarter, <\/span><span id=\"E856\">he \/ she <\/span><span id=\"E857\">would be able to complete the qualification in 9 quarters<\/span><span id=\"E858\"> (Approx. 2 years)<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E859\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><strong><span id=\"E860\">BBA \/ BMS<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E861\"> &#8211; <\/span><span id=\"E862\">If a student would appear for one paper every quarter, <\/span><span id=\"E863\">he \/ she <\/span><span id=\"E864\">would be able to complete the qualification in <\/span><span id=\"E865\">10-11<\/span><span id=\"E866\"> quarters<\/span><span id=\"E867\"> (2.5 to 3 years)<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E868\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><strong><span id=\"E869\">B. Com + CA Inter<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"E871\"> &#8211; <\/span><span id=\"E872\">If a student would appear for one paper every quarter, <\/span><span id=\"E873\">he \/ she <\/span><span id=\"E874\">would be able to complete the qualification in <\/span><span id=\"E875\">7<\/span><span id=\"E876\"> quarters<\/span><span id=\"E877\"> (less than 2 years)<\/span><span id=\"E878\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E879\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-3\"><span id=\"E880\">Please note that the timelines provided above are the maximum timeline to complete the qualification. However, under the guidance of your faculty \/ mentor, it is possible to further reduce the time it would take to complete the qualification with meticulous planning and diligent execution. <\/span><span id=\"E881\">W<\/span><span id=\"E882\">e would <\/span><span id=\"E883\">thus <\/span><span id=\"E884\">advise students to prepare a proper study and implementation plan to achieve their goals<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E885\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><strong><span id=\"E886\">Step <\/span><span id=\"E887\">3<\/span><span id=\"E888\"> <\/span><span id=\"E889\">\u2013<\/span><span id=\"E890\"> <\/span><span id=\"E891\">Acquire technical skills<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"E892\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-4\"><span id=\"E893\">Irrespective of the number of exemptions that a student gets (minimum 1 to maximum 6) based on the criteria identified above, students would take anywhere between 1-2 years to complete the ACCA qualification. Generally<\/span><span id=\"E894\">,<\/span><span id=\"E895\"> ACCA classes offered by different coaching institutes are <\/span><span id=\"E896\">weekend classes thereby, providing ample time to students during the week to acquire technical skills which are in demand with corporates. Some such skills include Advanced excel, financial modelling, data science, analytics, foreign language etc. This would be an effective way for students to improve their skills, become more employable<\/span><span id=\"E897\">, enhance <\/span><span id=\"E898\">credibility,<\/span><span id=\"E899\"> and differentiate themselves from their peers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E900\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><strong><span id=\"E901\">Step 4 \u2013 Build your Resume<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"E902\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-4\"><span id=\"E903\">To apply for a job, it is important for a student to complete their graduation. Thus, it is important for students to sit with their mentors to review their resume, identify gaps and plan the next steps accordingly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E904\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><strong><span id=\"E905\">Step 5 \u2013 Get started with Internship \/ Job<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"E906\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-4\"><span id=\"E907\">Based on a combination of completion of graduation, <\/span><span id=\"E908\">having <\/span><span id=\"E909\">practical skills and pursuing ACCA, students are likely to get good jobs and as a result start the process of gathering working experience. <\/span><span id=\"E910\">Please note that for a student to become an ACCA member, post completing the ACCA qualification, he \/ she needs to fulfill the 3 years (36 months working experience criteria) as well. Along with working experience, it is highly advisable that students prepare for one exam per quarter and by the time they would complete their qualification, they would have anywhere close to 18-24 months of working experience as well. <\/span><span id=\"E911\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E912\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-4\"><span id=\"E913\">Reputed institutes such as The WallStreet School work closely with students to balance aspects of pursuing a degree, acquiring technical <\/span><span id=\"E914\">skills,<\/span><span id=\"E915\"> and <\/span><span id=\"E916\">working experience as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E917\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><strong><span id=\"E918\">Step 6 \u2013 Get onto LinkedIn<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"E919\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E920\">This must be a <\/span><span id=\"E921\">\u201cNo Brainer<\/span><span id=\"E923\">\u201d<\/span><span id=\"E924\">.<\/span><span id=\"E926\"> If there is one skill that students need to nurture, then it <\/span><span id=\"E927\">must be<\/span><span id=\"E928\"> Networking. <\/span><span id=\"E929\">Get on to LinkedIn as early as possible, be there, interact, engage, grow your network, and make your presence felt. Please be aware that in the current scheme of things, you would need to add a link to your LinkedIn profile on the first page of your resume. Before an interviewer would be ready to meet you, he \/ she would generally visit your LinkedIn profile to understand more about you and your activities. <\/span><span id=\"E930\">Students who are physically present on LinkedIn and otherwise absent, <\/span><span id=\"E931\">do not<\/span><span id=\"E932\"> be surprised if you do not receive an invite for an actual interview to discuss your candidature forward. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"contentsContainer\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\">\n<div id=\"contents\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\">\n<p id=\"E933\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-3\"><span id=\"E934\">A lot of students come to discuss their career roadmap after completing their graduation and one common behaviour that I have observed amongst most of them is that all of them are worried about their career and have a common fear of having missed the bus. Having gone through all the grind over the last 2+ decades, you have not missed the bus by any means. All you need are few things as under \u2013 <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"E935\" class=\"qowt-li-16_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E936\">A good mentor<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E938\" class=\"qowt-li-16_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E939\">A plan that is relevant for you (not a generic plan that novice mentors share with you)<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E940\" class=\"qowt-li-16_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E941\">Inspiration to focus on smart, <\/span><span id=\"E942\">diligent,<\/span><span id=\"E943\"> and consistent work and efforts<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E944\" class=\"qowt-li-16_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" role=\"listitem\" aria-roledescription=\"Bullet\"><span id=\"E945\">High cadence of accountability and a specific monitoring plan<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACCA qualification is fast climbing the popularity charts as a highly sought after degree for students to build a great career in the field of finance and accounting.
