Cracking the Code: How Muskan Yadav Powered Up Her ACCA Journey with Valuation Precision

Balancing complex accounting frameworks while mastering the art of forward-looking financial valuation is no small feat. For many, navigating international reporting standards alone is plenty to keep on their plate. But for Muskan Yadav, tackling challenges head-on with a strategic, ethically-driven mindset is just part of the daily routine.

Currently pursuing her M.Com at IGNOU alongside her ACCA Skill Level certification, Muskan wasn’t content with just understanding where money went in the past. She wanted to predict where businesses were headed in the future.

To transform her solid commerce foundation into a high-octane analytical engine, Muskan enrolled in both her ACCA preparation and the Financial Modelling and Valuation Program at The WallStreet School (TWSS) in Delhi. By combining rigorous financial reporting with dynamic Excel modeling, she unlocked the exact toolset needed to turn raw numbers into strategic gold – ultimately securing her placement at YourCo Source.”

Here is how Muskan tackled the learning curve, leveled up her technical stack, and built a future-proof foundation in finance:

1. Tell us a bit about your academic background and what kicked off your passion for finance?

After completing my Bachelor of Commerce from Indira Gandhi University in Rewari, I knew I wanted to go deep into core corporate strategy and reporting. While pursuing my M.Com, I decided to take on the ACCA curriculum to gain a global perspective on performance management and financial reporting. Analyzing how key business metrics directly sway executive decision-making was the spark that made me fall in love with financial analysis.

2. Juggling ACCA exams, a Master’s degree and modeling training sounds intense! Why bring TWSS into the mix?

Let’s be real – ACCA equips you with incredible theoretical firepower, but sits you down in front of a vast sea of standards!

“Joining The WallStreet School was the ultimate game-changer for me. It took everything I was reading about in my ACCA and M.Com textbooks and turned it into live, interactive models in Microsoft Excel.”

I didn’t just want to pass exams; I wanted to sit in front of a raw spreadsheet on day one and project revenues, forecast cash flows, and build dynamic valuation models without sweating.

3. What was the vibe like during your training at TWSS? How did the faculty keep things engaging?

The mentors made intimidating concepts feel totally approachable!

“The faculty didn’t just lecture from slides – they brought real-world case studies to the room. They pushed us to look beyond the mechanics of Excel and really grasp the logic behind scenario building and sensitivity testing.”

Whether we were estimating terminal values or running comparative analyses, their hands-on approach made every single session incredibly practical and rewarding.

4. Which specific technical toolkits did you enjoy building out the most?

Building intrinsic company valuation models using Discounted Cash Flows (DCF), Comparable Company Analysis, and Precedent Transactions was an absolute highlight. Combining that with data analytics tools and certifications in business management helped me learn how to spot patterns, interpret cash flow movements, and present clear, data-driven narratives.

5. How do your ACCA studies and your TWSS financial modeling skills fuel each other?

They are the ultimate power combo! ACCA gives me the structural discipline to read financial statements with a fine-tooth comb. TWSS then gives me the hands-on mechanics to project those statements forward, run stress tests, and figure out what a company is actually worth. It turns standard accounting knowledge into dynamic financial forecasting.

6. What is your top piece of advice for fellow ACCA aspirants and commerce students?

Don’t limit your learning to just theoretical exam syllabi! Having diplomas and degrees shows dedication, but being able to build clean, error-free models in Excel is what makes you stand out in an interview. Dive into hands-on skill-building early, embrace data analysis, and never be afraid to tackle complex valuation challenges!
