Many commerce students who aim for a global finance career often look for a professional course that offers long-term growth and practical relevance. The US CMA certification is one such option that attracts students who want to build strong expertise in management accounting and financial decision-making.
Abhishek was one such student. He began his journey with a clear goal of strengthening his finance knowledge and building a strong professional foundation. As he explored the CMA syllabus, he realised that progressing in a course like US CMA requires more than theoretical understanding. It demands clarity of concepts, consistent preparation and the ability to apply learning to practical scenarios.
As his preparation moved forward, he became more aware of the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. This pushed him to look for the best US CMA coaching online and mentors who could explain concepts in a simple and practical manner. His search eventually led him to The Wall Street School, where the focus was not limited to exam preparation but also on building strong fundamentals.
His journey highlights how the right guidance, combined with a lot of practice and focused effort, can help students progress steadily through the US CMA course.
Here is what Abhishek shared about his US CMA journey, in his own words –
Q1: Congratulations on clearing both parts of the US CMA. What was your first reaction when you saw that result?
To be very honest, I was not confident at all after the exam because I found it quite challenging. I remember checking the result with a lot of nervousness. When I finally saw that I had passed, I felt extremely happy and relieved at the same time. It felt like all the late nights, revision and pressure finally paid off. That moment gave me a lot of confidence and reassurance that the effort I put in was truly worth it.
Q2: There are so many finance courses out there. What was it about CMA US that clicked with you and made you say yes, this is the one I want to pursue?
Initially, I was looking for a professional finance course that could add real value to my career. To be honest, I assumed that CMA US might be comparatively easier. But, once I started preparing, I quickly realised that it is a very detailed and demanding course. Over time, with the guidance of my mentors, I developed a genuine interest in subjects like cost management and financial planning. That is when I started taking CMA seriously and committed myself fully to the preparation.
Q3: Every professional course has its tough moments. During your CMA preparation, what did you personally find the most challenging and how did you work through it?
The biggest challenge for me was adjusting to the discipline required for a professional course like CMA. I was not very studious earlier, so understanding that this course needs consistent effort and structured study was difficult. It is very different from college or school learning. Changing my study habits, staying regular with revisions and maintaining focus took time. I slowly worked through this by following a proper routine and trusting the process.
Q4: Before starting CMA, you already knew it wouldn’t be easy. After actually going through the syllabus and exams, did it turn out to be tougher or more manageable than you expected?
It turned out to be tougher than I initially expected. The syllabus is vast and the exams really test your conceptual understanding. But instead of taking it as rocket science I treated it as a personal challenge. I pushed myself harder and kept revising and practiced mock tests regularly. With consistent effort, what seemed difficult at first gradually became more manageable.
Q5: How did the training, mentors and overall support during your CMA preparation help you stay focused and eventually clear both parts of the exam?
The support from my CMA coaching played a very important role in my CMA course journey. Whenever we needed help, the staff was always available and very responsive. My mentor Shilpi ma’am personally guided me and my trainers Moosal Khazim sir and Abhay sir explained concepts in a clear and practical way, which made learning much easier. Their guidance kept me motivated and on track throughout the preparation. Having that constant support made a big difference in helping me clear both parts of the US CMA exam.
From preparation to results, Abhishek’s story proves that focused learning and the right mentorship can shape a strong and confident future in finance.
