This is the story of Amisha. A focused and determined student from Delhi who has always been clear about her goals and the kind of career she wants to build. She completed her schooling in Delhi and went on to pursue BCom (Hons) from Delhi University. Alongside her degree, she also cleared the CA Foundation, which gave her a strong base in accounting and finance.
During her college years, Amisha started looking for something that could add more practical knowledge to her academic background. That’s when she came across ACCA. The global recognition of the course and its focus on analytical and practical learning made her feel it was the right choice. She decided to begin her ACCA journey with The Wall Street School, where mentors like Shilpi Ma’am guided her throughout the process.
Managing college, CA background studies and ACCA preparation together was not easy, but her consistent efforts helped her clear 9 ACCA exams so far, bringing her closer to becoming a full ACCA member.
Recently, Amisha achieved another major milestone by securing a job with KPMG, one of the Big 4 firms. Her journey shows how steady effort, practical learning and the right guidance can help turn a plan into reality.
Here’s how Amisha made it happen, in her own words:
Q. Congratulations on your placement at KPMG! How did you feel when you got the offer?
Thank you. Honestly, it was a mix of relief and excitement when I got the offer from KPMG. I still remember sitting at my desk checking my email and seeing the confirmation. At that moment I thought about all the late nights I spent studying for ACCA exams and practicing case studies. It felt like all the effort had finally paid off. I was also thinking about how this opportunity would let me work on real projects, meet people from different industries, and understand how a global company operates.
Q. Why did you choose to pursue your ACCA studies with The Wall Street School?
When I decided to do ACCA, my main concern was finding the right guidance. I had already cleared my CA Foundation, so I knew how important structured preparation is. I wanted a place that focused on understanding concepts, not just completing the syllabus. While searching online, I came across The Wall Street School. What caught my attention were the genuine student reviews and the way they explained how their classes connect ACCA topics with real corporate examples. I also liked that they had small batches and regular tests, which made it easier to stay consistent. After attending one demo class, I felt the teaching style matched exactly what I was looking for. That’s when I decided to continue my ACCA journey with them.
Q. What challenges did you face during your ACCA journey and how did you overcome them?
The biggest challenge for me was adjusting to ACCA after a CA foundation. CA is mostly theoretical, while ACCA requires analytical thinking and applying concepts. I struggled in the beginning with computer-based exams and new software tools. To overcome this I made a study plan, practiced mock exams daily and discussed questions with peers and mentors. I remember one session where we analyzed a company’s cash flow statement together. That helped me connect the theory with real problems. Doing things step by step really improved my confidence.
Q. How did ACCA coaching help you secure a job at KPMG?
ACCA coaching helped me in many ways. The classes built my technical understanding and made my concepts clearer. My lead mentor, Shilpi Ma’am, guided me throughout the process and helped me prepare for interviews with clarity and confidence. Satyarth Sir and Deeksha Jain Ma’am also played a major role in simplifying difficult topics and linking them with real corporate scenarios.. Also sessions conducted on interviews, report writing and communication, which helped me feel more confident during placements. Working on mock case studies and interacting with students from different backgrounds gave me a better idea of how the industry works. All these experiences together helped me prepare well for my exam as well as the KPMG recruitment process.
Q. What advice would you give to ACCA students who dream of joining Big 4 firms like KPMG?
My advice is to focus on consistent work and learning. ACCA is not just about clearing exams, it is about understanding how finance works in practice. Take opportunities like internships, live projects, or mock interviews seriously because you never know which experience will make a difference. Talk to mentors and peers about doubts because practical insights often help more than theory. Most importantly, stay patient and determined. The journey will have challenges but staying committed increases your chances of landing a Big 4 firm.
Looking back, every long night, every mock paper and every doubt cleared brought Amisha closer to where she stands today. Her story reminds us that the path may not always be easy, but with steady effort and belief in yourself, you can build the future you once only imagined.
