Below is a transcript of her interview with us:

Q1: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how it influenced your career path?

I was always interested in working with numbers and had passion for finance, even though I initially pursued a BSc in Physical Science. While working at We Chartered Consultancy, I gained practical experience with financial records and payroll, which made me realize my desire to build a long-term career in finance. But also it made me realize that I needed a globally recognized certification to advance and set myself apart in this field. That’s when I planned to pursue the CMA course.

Q2: Why did you decide to pursue CMA?

CMA appealed to me because it emphasizes management accounting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making, these are the skills that are highly sought after in the corporate world. I was looking for something beyond traditional accounting, and CMA provided that global perspective. When I explored training options, I wanted to join a course whose focus was not just on passing exams but also on developing practical skills so that I can learn how to translate my knowledge into practice and understand the nuances of the course.

Q3: What was the most difficult part of your CMA journey?

Honestly, the most challenging aspect of my CMA journey was juggling work and studies. The CMA syllabus is tough and extensive, and some topics felt very complicated and I spent several hours understanding them. I joined CMA coaching and it was incredibly helpful. The trainers helped me manage my study time and also explained the topic in a way that it became understandable to me, and I even took live doubt-clearing sessions to keep myself on track. Plus, I took so many mock exams so that I can identify my areas where I needed to improve.

Q4: Was the CMA course as difficult as you initially thought?

Initially, I felt quite overwhelmed by the CMA course in delhi. I had heard it was challenging, and I wasn’t certain I could manage it. But, as I began to understand the concepts and practice consistently, everything gradually started to click. I concentrated on simplifying difficult topics, reviewing regularly, and connecting what I learned to real-life situations. There were certainly some tough times, but maintaining discipline and overcoming each challenging topic boosted my confidence.I would say, the journey was demanding, but the effort was completely worth it!

Q5: How did the CMA course help you get placed at Bodhi Tree?

Getting a job at Bodhi Tree was a significant achievement for me, and my CMA preparation at The Wall Street School was crucial in reaching that goal. The organized coaching, frequent mock tests, and practical case studies helped me gain both knowledge and confidence. Each test pointed out the areas I needed to work on, and the ongoing feedback motivated me to improve continuously.

The preparation for the interview was very helpful. The practice sessions covered everything from technical concepts to real-world problem-solving. By the time my actual interview arrived, I felt ready to manage any question that came my way.

All the hard work, late-night studying, and intense practice paid off when I passed my CMA exams and successfully made it through several interview rounds. Reflecting on the experience, I see how important it is to have the right guidance and support throughout the process. It truly makes a significant difference!

So, Jhilmil’s journey demonstrates that with the right support and perseverance, anyone can forge a successful career in finance. The Wall Street School is dedicated to empowering students like Jhilmil and is committed to helping more aspiring finance professionals realize their dreams through the right skills and opportunities.
